Description

Takes 19400SU

Makes 3560 iron per hour

(rate is calculated off of 4 sets of max speed crushing wheels as each set can make 890 iron ingots worth of gravel per hour, my actual observed rates were more like 4000 an hour but that's just how things are with rng based recipes. 3560/h should be the correct number).

Based off of Triobians MK2 Iron Generator. I wasn't content with his design and felt it could be substantially compressed. I also added the following features.

Production of both ingots and blocks and large vault storages for both of them.

Higher rates due to a larger cobble gen, added set of crushing wheels, and additional washing fan.

Only one power input to run both cobble gen and iron farm.

A shutoff switch as well as automatic shutoff when full, when shut off in this way the cobblestone input will be turned off first and then the crushers and washers will be turned off 20 seconds later to make sure there's no loose stacks of cobble or gravel sitting around after a shutdown.

This build is definitely pound for pound more expensive to build than Triobians, adding features and compressing things means more blocks and more expensive blocks. I just wanted to make something as compact as I could no matter the cost. (On this note the height could probably be reduced by 2 blocks using extra mods for pipes or vacuums or something. And the 8 wide dimension could be reduced by 1 simply by removing the glass trapdoors that keep water from getting everywhere up at the pumps, it works while spilling its just messy. or just put it up against a wall boom 7x10x7)

Using the schematicannon breaks a few things, because of this I tried to write down instructions on how to get the generator up and running after its shot out of the cannon on signs in the build. However to recap here.

Break and Replace all the tanks and vaults (tanks are up top, vaults are the big blue rectangles that keep items)

Waterlog all of the pumps (under the tanks)

Waterlog the leaves (they can be accessed from under the build or you can break and replace the glass)

Place water on top of the two fans that you can crawl on top of through the maintenance hatch on the left side of the build

Place lava in the cauldron on the right side

Place lava in all of the tanks (just needs one bucket each)

Crank the handcrank attached to the piston in the bottom right corner, just a tiny crank to make it into a construct, then go ahead and hold crouch while you crank it back into the position it was originally

Hook up your input power shaft to the left gearbox with the sign (The build requires 19400su at any rpm)

Something weird to note about this build is that the cobble generator seems to need inventories under the andesite funnels even when its running and is unable to access those inventories (that's why I have barrels along that whole surface). So long as the cobble generator is running no items will be put into those inventories from the contraption and will instead be spit out the side through the brass funnel and barrel on the gantry. However when its turned off a few cobblestone that were falling before it became stationary may go into the inventories, Because of this you might want to replace the barrels with trashcans if your modpack has them. That will probably work better as there is a theoretical possibility that after turning the cobble generator on and off over and over a several hundred times the barrels might fill up and will need to be manually emptied. (This is also an issue that my build has that the original by Triobian does not)

Also when the build is shut off you will probably lose a few iron ingots out the right side due to their intake turning off from a redstone signal that is unfortunately right next to it.

Well i have some issues with the farm. there is no tips what the filters should be. also where to glue. i got the cobble farm working but somehow it just drop gravel sometimes sand and flint in the front of the machine and nothing else works. just randomly 6k cobblestone in the vault
Hey, I just built this. I'm having the same issue as Ciriux. My cobblestone vault is full, it's spewing out clay, sand, gravel and flint on the side. I have no idea what the issue is exactly.. Is there anywhere I can contact you to take a look at it?
How do i access the Item Vaults? or is there any access integrated i cant seem to find/understand it.
I copied this farm into my world and it didn't work at the beginning, but i got it to work. My Issue was that is was dropping sand, clay, gravel and flint all the time, but that was bc my crushing wheels were spinning in the wrong directions, after switching the speed to the other lane on the rotation speed controller(the 256 one) everything worked normal. Also if you use the farm, you need to add a way to access the iron in the vaults(i didn't find a access point) so just add a brass funnel to the vault and let it eject the iron into a chute connected to a storage block. If you are worried that the cobble gen keeps running after turning it off, that's normal, it will automatically turn off when the cobble vault is full
My problem is that everything works, but the vaults are not filling up, the cobble generator is generating, the crushing wheels are crushing and the mechanical presses are pressing, yet the ingot vault is stuck at 25.6k and the block vault is not increasing
can someone tell me if there is a trash shoot on the cobble gen

Wow sorry about leaving this here and not replying to anyone. I was never thought anyone would actually give this a look I just wanted to upload it because I felt like I spent too much time on it to not at least put it out here. It seems like basically everyone is having trouble with it which means I must have messed something up with the schematic or explanations but the schematic works on my computer so I have no idea how to fix it.

Answers to questions above.
Where to glue/what to assign filters as - at least for me the schematic cannon does both of those things properly on its own, I could probably type out an explanation for the filters but I would need to make a video guide for the glue. If you are having this issue im very sorry and do not know how to fix it for you.

Spewing gravel, sand, clay, and flint - I have no idea why but I guess the 256 speed controller is flipped when people import it? This does not happen to me but sure is strange. If you are having this issue please locate the 256rpm speed controller on the side and have it spin the other direction. Maybe things will work. (thank you for identifying this Kolas)

Is there a way to access the vaults. - No I didnt add any sort of access. I was really running out of space. You will have to add some sort of way to extract the iron to actually use it. Brass funnels are what I would reach for.

Is there a trash shoot on the cobble gen. - No. Im actually not really sure what this means but cobble from the gen hopefully shouldn't get trashed. There is a trash lava cauldron on the side but it only trashes flint and any cobble that occasionally makes it through into the iron block storage.

Everything works but ingot vault is stuck at 25.6k and block vault isn't increasing. - Oops, I had the wrong filter on the brass funnel that inputs into the mechanical press basin, its currently set to iron nuggets and needs to be changed to a list filter that allows both iron nuggets and iron ingots. Sorry genuinely dont know how I didn't catch that one.

Sorry for all the trouble with this build everyone. Hopefully this clears up some of the issues people were having with it. Another big thanks to Kolas for figuring my broken build out and basically writing this comment 3 months before I did. Sorry for all the trouble friends.
